Health Benefits of Eggs

An Egg consists of a White portion and in center it has a yolk. Egg Yolk contains over 90 percent of an egg’s calcium and iron. Egg White contains almost half the egg’s protein.

Rich in Protein: Proteins are the main building blocks of our body and hence are required in an adequate ratio. Both egg white and yolk are rich have sufficient proteins that can meet up our daily body requirement. An egg contains all the necessary amino acids that is needed by our body.

Rich in Cholesterol: Eggs are rich in cholesterol.. WAIT.. what?? Yes, you heard it right!! But, it’s the good cholesterol which is the necessity of the body. Good Cholesterol or “High Density Lipoprotein” helps is removal of Bad Cholesterol or “Low density Proteins” which harms the body by blocking the arteries of heart and leading to several heart diseases, leading to stoke, etc.

Rich in Choline: Eggs are rich in choline which is very necessary for body, however not every individual fulfills the requirement of this nutrient. Choline is important for building of cell membranes and also helps in production of signaling molecules in brain.

Rich in Antioxidants: Eggs are rich in Lutein and Zeaxanthin which are great antioxidants that helps in building up retina of the eye. These antioxidants help in prevention of cataracts and mascular degenerations.

Helps in Weight Loss: Eggs helps in fulfilling the demands of calorie intake as they score high on a scale called the Satiety Index, which measures the ability of foods to induce feelings of fullness and reduce calorie intake.
